GOT PROBLEMS OR ISSUES? => PETROL => Topic started by: El1a on May 28, 2020, 12:22:02

I picked up my new i30 Go yesterday. It is a gorgeous car, I love it and am 99% happy with it apart from one exception.
When I got home I went to lock the car and noticed no lights flashed/no noise. Upon further inspection I note that the lock button on the key does nothing, the interior lock button does nothing and if I manually use the key in the door it just locks that specific door.
Hyundai have been really great to deal with as it is a first new car for both my partner and I. I took it straight back to the dealer and they gave me a loan car while they fix the issue.
Just wondering if anyone else has come across a similar issue?

Welcome,
Well that is an odd one. Can't recall hearing of that particular issue with an i30 before and we have been operating for 12 years. Certainly not on a brand new one anyway.
Thinking about it, i suspect the central locking controller which I assume is associated with the BCM (body control module) is dead? So it's not receiving a signal from the remote key and also not respnding to the central lock button or the manual key turn. Very odd. :crazy1:

Hey Admin
Thanks for the swift response.
I'll post an update once Hyundai get back to me.
I miss her already!

Make sure the boot and bonnet are fully closed too.
