Title: MY09 or not MY09, that is the question
Post by: 2008 Hyundai i30 SLX on May 29, 2020, 04:48:12
How do you tell if my car is a
2008 Hyundai i30 SLX 1.6 CRDi FD MY09 5 SP Manual 5D HATCHBACK
or a
2008 Hyundai i30 SLX 1.6 CRDi FD 5 SP Manual 5D HATCHBACK

and what does MY09 mean anyway ?
There seems to be different values in redbook checks and also insurance quotes, but i don't know which i have.?

Usually around september each year they do an update with a couple of minor changes. So for example in late 2010 they changed the roof bars on the CW (wagon version) from Black to Silver and added bluetooth I think. So even though my wife's CW was a 2010 build it had these features and so was described as a 2010 (MY11)

Had a quick look on Carsales comparing the two and couldn't confirm for sure but I think the MY09 might have Cruise Control while straight 2008 didn't. I know the Diesel didn't come out with Cruise for at least the first 12 months. Sometimes the MY makes a big difference and other times very little.. When you get to a 10+ year old car though it seldom carries much of a price difference (if any)

Its a mid year classification . No longer relevant to your old 2008 in relation to its value.
