Title: ecu remap
Post by: gabrielezamboni on June 23, 2020, 03:58:41
Hi everybody I bought the new Hyundai N-Line i30 and I was considering to buy a racechip but I found a tuner that can remap the car with the patch system and probably keep the factory warranty.
He told me that in european car is easy to do and he’s going to find out if it is possible for my car as well
do you think is possible keep the warranty with this patch system ecu remap?

thanks  :)

Hi,
You: were considering.
He: probably keep warranty ?
He: says - easy in European car ( when did he do it in Europe?)
He: says - you need to let him know (so he doesn't).

RUN  !!!!

Just drive and flog as is for a while and do more homework.
Again, if anyone says same BS , RUN  !!

Great advice: RUN.   :scared:

...but I found a tuner that can ...... and probably ......
He told me that in european car is easy ?

We recently had a guy here claiming to have been a technician for 39 years. Bottom line was that he failed the most basic (schoolboy level) piece of electronic theory.

RUN

 :wts:

If anything fails due to extra stress associated with increased performance, expect a witch hunt. Could compromise your insurance too..

I'd stick with experts that can show you historical data.

Okay,
Even after editing of original post for clarity,
I still say - RUN !!!!
Let him do his homework,  you do yours which will include asking Hy Aus about warranty.
In the mean time,
drive it like it's a hire car or stolen !   :Drive:  :Drive: 💩
when it doesn't impress you with its overall performance,
sell it and buy something else.

Thanks guys
So I think I would try out the racechip maybe
Not sure yet I would love to see some opinions of someone that have been using racechip for a while

I’m pretty satisfied about the performance of the car but I would love to improve few things like throttle response and turbo lag
Basically I can go very fast or very slow and I would like to have half way option as well

Thanks

So at the end the guy contact me and he told me that for my car we still need to wait for the patch warranty
He told me that is not out yet and if is not sure that can keep the warranty he doesn’t wanna touch the car
Thoughts?

First day after the installation, drove about 25km first on map 2 and after 4 and 5

first day could not feel very much difference but you can notice that somenthing is changing

second day there we go, drove about 50 km in map 4 and the car is pushing little be harder then stock especially on hills

switched to map 5 and bloody hell now is pushing pretty hard
now im driving another 50 km before to try out map 6 and i will let you know after

Little longer with the racechip and I can say that it’s working
The last map (6 in my case with rc rs) is very aggressive compare to the others below
 Really happy so far
