Title: Size of rims and tires on i30 FD 2011
Post by: bepis on August 24, 2020, 08:08:24
How big can you go on a standard i30 FD? I want either 18 or 17" rims, does anyone have experience on these size rims, and how wide can you go? 225?

Looking at  :link: Wheel-Size.com :: Reference guide for car wheel and tire dimensions such as size, offset, PCD (http://www.wheel-size.com), the biggest wheels it lists for i30 FD is 225/45R17 tyres on 7j x 17 ET56 rims. The Premium models had 17" wheels.

I just added 16 x 7,5 inch rims with 205/55 16 tyres. They just fit, albeit looking quite beefy with the offset. However not sure about how 17" diameter will fit though. I did however notice a bit of loss of acceleration from standstill due to the wheels being about 3 kg heavier each (cdri 89hp though).
