Title: Headlight fuse
Post by: Foxo on August 31, 2020, 22:46:06
Hey guys,
On my way to work this morning I lost low beam headlights, both at the same time!
I had to drive in the dark with my fog lights / high beams when suitable until I had a reasonable spot to pull over.
I can’t seem to find the headlight fuse in the book? 2012 (my13) petrol i30

Thanks, any help is greatly appreciated

Welcome Foxo,

It is not impossible that both blew at once, after all they have both had exactly the same amount of use. I'm guessing that you are aware there are 2 fuse boxes. One under the dash near your right knee and the other under the hood. I think in your model that is on the passenger side of the engine bay near the  air clear box. Diesel i30's have been known to be hard on headlight globes for several reasons but the petrol versions not so much.

Hey bro thanks for the response
I’m aware of where the fuse boxes are but I can’t seem to find which fuse is for head lights  :head_butt:

Unfortunately we don't have a GD i30 any more but hopefully one of our members with the same version as you can check both their boxes and shed some light on the mystery. Just be aware that European built GD i30 tourers for example may have a different fuse box layout than Korean built hatches for example.

Just asked Mr G & it looks like the fuse is under dash.

Headlamp Fuse (https://fusesdiagram.com/hyundai/fuses-and-relay-hyundai-i30-2013-2018.html)

Although on another website it contradicts this.
Not sure where now (https://fuse-box.info/hyundai/hyundai-i30-gd-2012-2017-fuses-and-relay)

CHeers Neville, One is probably the Czech built versions and the other from the Korean factory.

I'll have a look at the GD manual in my archive!  (and edit this post if I find anything)

Well that wasn't much help.. should be marked on the guide in the map of fuses on the inside of the fuse box lid but if it is anything like the manual it will be hard to decipher.  :undecided:

If it's like my FD, there are actually two - a high side and low side arrangement - in the engine bay box by the battery.
