Hi everyone,
I have a 2010 i30cw with 130k on it which started to misfire badly 2 minutes into a 5 minute drive.
I checked with an OBDII reader and there were random misfires on all cylinders but most were on cylinder 3.
I had a mobile mechanic take a look who replaced the plugs, leads and coils - but the car is still misfiring. His guess is it might be a small hole in the head gasket because the car is getting hot so fast.
I tried some Rislone head gasket fix and it didn't seem to help but when I connected the OBDII reader again 99% of misfires are on cylinder 2 now with none on cylinder 3 .
This is a old car and its getting expensive. Any ideas on this?
thanks for your answers

Resolved - One of the new spark plug leads was faulty :)

Strange, though, that it was misfiring before your mech replaced the leads and still misfired after :Dunno:
That suggests it wasn't the leads at all, but maybe how the leads were connecting... :Cuppa:
Glad it's sorted.
