Title: Rear door won’t open from the inside-NOT the cable

Hi all, hope someone has some knowledge on this. Just bought a 2009 diesel estate, engine is perfect and I’m really happy with it. Only problem so far is the right rear door won’t open from the inside, thought it was the cable so I took the panel off and took a look but the cable that’s on at the moment feels like it has resistance when I pull it. Does anyone have any other suggestions?

I thought the child lock might be broken, it feels a lot flimsier than the left side but if it is then how would I be best trying to fix it?

Child lock on?

If the actual lock is broken the lock unit needs to be changed. I paid 40€ for new + postage. I did both rear doors little over 3 hours. Took my time and did not hurry...
