Title: Occasional start problems
Post by: xaoc on July 06, 2021, 08:25:13
So recently my i30 started to give me headaches. Occasionally the car will crank but won't start. A couple of guys gave me a push and it started. This happens approximately once every month. It even happened once or twice after refueling at the gas station. I took it in two repair shops and they said that there is no error code present... Has anything like this happened to anyone before?

Any help is appreciated

Here is a video of my 10th attempt at cranking it
yesterday morning

Although the starter seems to be cranking well.
How old is the battery?
Can you measure the voltage?

Is it weather dependant. e.g. damp mornings?
Have you checked leads, plugs?

Intermittent faults are difficult to trace. I guess it was behaving properly when you took it to the repair shop, so no fault found, which is annoying.
