I would like to tow a furniture trailer from Brisbane to Townsville and was wondering if it would be too much for my car ?

You'll need a bit more info.
Size and weight of trailer?
Petrol or Diesel?
Hatch or Wagon?
Hatch, either petrol or diesel will be a maximum BRAKED capacity of 1300kg.
Wagon, petrol max braked capacity 1400kg
Wagon, diesel Max braked capacity is 1500kg.
Then, take away what the trailer weighs and that's what you'll be able to carry.
How far are you going? How much furniture, is it feasible you can fit it all within the legal weights? 15 hour drive you don't want to do many back and forths.
Unless you plan on towing on the semi regular or carrying bikes, the money spent on the towbar and trailer hire you may be better off hiring a small truck and doing it in a single or fewer trips.
These little cars are awesome, but I still pay $900 in rego to keep my XR6 as a tow car.

I looked into fitting a towbar to my FD, which would have been feasible for about $100 second-hand, but I changed my mind when it was clear it would require cutting away part of the rear bumper. :disapp:
