Title: Roo Hunters Hopping Mad Over Call For Ban
Post by: eye30 on July 23, 2010, 20:09:51

Australia's kangaroo meat industry is fighting an attempt to have its products banned from the European Union.

Is Roo meat sold widely in Oz?
Can anyone tell what roo meat tastes like?

Roo meat is not widely sold (in Tassie anyway...)

It is a typical game meat with a stronger flavour than beef (but still nice though)

This latest development might make price go "up and down" a bit

I'd like to try roo meat, but I have to say I don't think "the kill" should have been broadcast

I've had roo meat once as well.
Quite a rich flavour and quite tender actually.

But there's just something about eating kangas that just doesn't sit with me.......
