GOT PROBLEMS OR ISSUES? => GENERAL => Topic started by: Divv on November 01, 2021, 22:34:13

Hello all,
I have had a GD-03 Headunit in my 2012 GD for a month or so now, and I have noticed that Wired Apple Carplay keeps dropping out. Some days it does it once or twice, other days it wont do it at all.
Just wondering if anyone else has had this issue. I don't think its the cable from what I understand but I do need to 100% eliminate that.
Just reaching out to see if anyone else has had this issue or is it just me.
Thanks,
Divv

That used to happen quite frequently for me though it seems to have been corrected over the last several iOS updates, I'm using an iPhone 7 Plus with genuine apple cable.

Yeah, I have an 11 Pro running up-to-date OS and it is still happening. Tell me if I'm wrong, but if I had put in the head unit incorrectly, and say, there was a dodgy connection, that wouldn't result in the apple car play not working would it. It would result in the full shutdown of the headunit.
I hope its a software update otherwise looks like I had just better get used to it.
Fingers crossed. Is it worth checking the plugs and making sure its all connected securely?

If you think there's a possibility that there might be a faulty connection then that's always worth checking.

There is a possibility that the port on your phone may have a layer of fluff/dust resting at the bottom preventing a good connection.
It happened to my iPhone after it was around a year old, once I cleaned out the pocket fluff it was perfect every time
