Title: 2011 FD i30 2 litre 2 cam / rocker cover srew leak ?
Post by: Mal on November 04, 2021, 03:38:58
Hi guys

I have a 2011 2 litre i30 which was leaking a small amount of oil from a couple of places around the cam cover gasket.
I purchased a genuine Hyundai gasket as they are as cheap as the non genuine and fitted it using some sealant on the areas noted in a YouTube video showing the replacement to a 2 lite Sonata.
I believe all is now well an sealed except there is a small amount of oil coming from around a front right screw head.
Having been ultra careful fitting this gasket, I'm wondering if anyone else has struck this and would it be feasible to remove the screw and place a little Black RTV silicon sealant around the screw head before nipping it down ?

The picture shows the screw around which a pool of oil develops.

Any help would be greatly appreciated
