The OEM head unit in our FD has some silly "Initial Volume" setting, I find no matter what we seem to set it to it is not right the next time the car is used. Is there any way to disable the initial volume so that it just starts at the same volume it was shut down like every other radio I've used?

Hi
Didn't you report and find a cure for this very issue a short while back?

I seem to recall having the radio on then pushing and holding the left hand button until it beeped and offered "initial volume" - could be wrong there though.

That was an issue with the AC turning on every time the car was started, fixed it by doing the OEM reset thing as described. I am pretty sure that before the reset the volume on the stereo would start the same as the last saved, but i could be wrong. I can find the setting to change the initial volume, but would much rather have it just use the same as last used instead of resetting every time.
We can live with it as it is, just thought there might be a fix for it out there though. ;)

Indeed, that's how the topic started, but then you mentioned you found a way to fix the startup volume...?

Then again, I can see where you're coming from - I'd be very annoyed if my infotainment didn't resume where it left off after a power-down.

I've never had that problem. Mine picks up where it left off since I bought it. I do notice that after a battery disconnect, even short enough not to lose stations, the climate system starts at 23 AC medium fan, so I must get around to trying your reset procedure for something less intrusive.
