Title: What's the service schedule for a 2016 diesel i40?
Post by: Jenson on April 16, 2022, 14:38:21
Hi guys.

I hope you're all keeping safe and well.

I have just bought a 2016 diesel i40 and was wondering what the service items were. I've looked online and I can't find anything concrete.

Do I need to replace the fuel filter evey year? Also, is there a specific brand I need to look for? I had this with my honda.

5.3 litres Oil (which grade do I need? 5W30 or 0W30? the bonnet states that they recomment C3) This shows up when I put my reg number, can I use it despite it stating BMW?  :link: TRIPLE QX SynPlus Engine Oil 0W-30 BMW - 1Ltr | Euro Car Parts (https://www.eurocarparts.com/p/triple-qx-synplus-engine-oil-0w-30-bmw-1ltr-521773552)
Oil filter
Air filter
Pollen filter (eurocarparts is telling me there are 2 fitments for my reg. which do I use? 17x227x201 or 17x224x201?)

Am I missing anything else?

Thank you!

Oil information - should be a whole page about it in the handbook.
Cabin filter - pop the old one out - the code will be written along the side.  watch the arrows point the right direction when you put the new one in.
Fuel filter - its probaby every 2 years but dont quote me I've never even sat in an i40
