Title: lock cyllinder replacement programming PD>GD
Post by: Lansa on September 06, 2024, 19:19:16
Hi everyone!

Sadly our I30 had a unwanted visitor trying to steal it, they tore out the lock cyillinder...but forgot about immobilizers.
We could still start the car if we twitsted the little thingy inside and holding the keyfob near!

Our local garage installed a used cyllinder lock assembly with two keys from a wreck.
We couldn't wait 4-5 weeks for a new one from Hyundai, and ofcourse the price was insane at 500 bucks
Works & starts just fine.
(swapped the little immobilizer chips inside

However the keyfob remote buttons don't work yet.
We noticed the new keys were from a PD model 2017-today.
Whilst our I30 is a GD from 2014-15 ish.

Is it possible to program a PD fob to a GD model?
If so is this something anyone with a diag tool can do? :)

Thank you kindly!
