Title: BRISBANE meet up 3/10/10
Post by: agentr31 on September 14, 2010, 11:40:11: anyway lets get to know each other a bit better with a meet up and a bit of a cruise!

DETAILS- its basically a meet up and drive through the mountains at a leisurely pace (we dont have GTR's and its not lakeside) to emundi! there is a BBQ and heaps of parking just behind the main road

WHEN- sunday 3/10/10

WHERE- BP north bound at caboolture on the bruce highway 9:30 am for a 10am leave! over where the trucks park on the northern side of the BP!

PLAN- meet up at the BP, drive to caboolture up the highway, to lower king street, then towards the markets up beerburrum road, turn off on to steve irwin way to railway st, landsborough maleny road into maleny montville road, through montville road and up the hill, take a ride through there, down the hill now nambour mapelton road!

then on to the bruce highway, and to emundi!

WHAT TO BRING- full tank of fuel, i dont know about you but running out of fuel up there would be a 2 hour wait for racq!! a UHF radio so we can stay in contact (if you dont have one dont stress ill try and bring some spares) & some friends if you like, drinks, and meat for a BBQ

Nice suggestion "eye", but I think we are set to go next weekend (3/10/10).
I sent PMs to 30 local members on Friday and have so far had two replies....
both as apologies.

Maybe the title can be the "Sunday Hyunday Funday Runday to Eumunday"

(We're actually going to Eumundi, but that don't quite rhyme!)

Left from Landsborough for drive up the range, through Montville, Mapleton, Nambour, to Eumundi.
Three diesels and one petrol engine. (moi). :cool:
I went slowly so they could keep up.
BBQ lunch for the other three teams in Eumundi whilst my wife and I slipped across the road to a cafe. We were on a time schedule so didn't want to do the BBQ thing in case we ran out of time.
Really great to meet the guys.
Sorry we had to rush off guys.

anyways besides that was a great turn out!!!!

i was however caught out, apparently the emundi markets now run on a sunday, when i checked the web when i set this up... it wasnt on a sunday, doesnt matter tho im sure we all enjoyed ourselves!!

Sadly I have only just arrived in Brisbane this weekend (a couple of weekend too late) after a lot of traveling and lots of black holes, phone signal and net access wise including Tasmania where I did meet up with Dazzler.. :D.

Saw a lot of 'rental' i30's on my trip and a few i20's, goes to show the rental companies must like 'em as well, good reliable economical vehicles! :wink:

Getting together like you guys have, driving some great roads showing off the i30 club would have been a lot of fun, Hopefully I will get a chance to be there when another meet is organised.

Going to abseil with my son at Kangaroo point today, that should be interesting as I have never done it before,, :eek: before heading home for home on Monday.

kangaroo point is pretty busy most of the time! (when ever oi drive past there are people on teh cliffs) some people like to do night time climbs there ;)
