Title: New i30 - 1.4 comfort

New to the site and new to the Hyundai i30! Bought an i30 1.4 petrol comfort in "steel grey" last week - with new "60" plate in the UK. My first impressions are that I have bought a decent car which belies the "budget" image that Hyundai still has in the UK...

Anyway, pic attached, hope you like it as much as me!

I take it this is your first Hy car and because of the negative press Hy cars get was really surprised as to the quality and build.

This is my 3rd Hy car I've had my i30 now for 3 years.

I believe your colour was the most popular colour in australia until it was replaced over a year ago by Hyper silver (about halfway between your colour and Continental silver)

I really like the new front (still not available over here) :'(

As eye30 says, the negative image of Hyundai is quite wrong these days, very good quality vs price in comparison to the other brands :cool: :cool:

Steel grey...very good choice :exclaim: Especially with new front bumper looks good. In fact, Hyundai (also Kia) has the budget image, but mainly thanks to "I" series, it's change.

Post by: i30fanuk on September 15, 2010, 20:16:51: Thanks for the messages - I am really pleased with the colour but it is the redesign of the front bumper which makes so much difference to this car - the car really stands out now, whereas, (I think) the original bumper was a little bit bland...

Anyway, I will tune in regularly to this site, looks like there is a lot of useful information and especially pics of fellow i30s!!!!

I agree with the new, meaner looking, front. I don't think the current one is bland tho; it's just that you have something to compare it with, lucky git :P

Oh yeah, the thing I remembered. I saw the pictures of "new" Ford Mondeo, that will be selling soon now..they sure do look similar to me (front bumper).

Accim, just to be fair, (i think that) it was Ford Focus that applied this style to the front bumber :rolleyes:
IMO though, it looks more well-balanced on i30 :wink:
