Title: GD-03 in EU cars?
Post by: HiImMilan on October 03, 2024, 23:26:57
Hey folks, I got myself a 2013 diesel i30 CW. It unfortunately had only the "standard" radio, without Bluetooth, just AUX and USB (with iPod). It looks like this:  :link: HOW TO: UPGRADE YOUR GD-01/GD-02 TO A GD-03 HEAD UNIT STEP-BY-STEP GUIDE (https://i30ownersclub.com/index.php?topic=45851.msg515032#msg515032) but w/o the Bluetooth.

I'd like to modify and upgrade to GD-03, but I do worry about some things. Notably: will it connect to continental europe cars? Is there any difference in electrical wiring (as far as I know, GD-03 is Aussie exclusive  ). Another worry is about antennas. Does GD-03 require GPS antenna? Do I need to somehow jerry-rig it?

I'd like to also push my luck and somehow add a reverse camera, any tips with this one?

I know some of you will just tell me to get the chinese stuff, but I'd been daily-driving one for past few years and the carplay (main reason why I want GD-03) sucks soooo much).

If it’s the non nav radio it will fit perfectly, I did it myself with a 2013 i30 active
