Title: Location of Crank Angle Position Sensor in D4FB Diesel?
Post by: InOzTas on October 24, 2024, 00:36:13
I spent an hour looking around the engine yesterday, looking from above and below with the vehicle jacked up, and just could not find this thing. I see the Camshaft position sensor is on the top of the engine near the back, near the firewall but just cannot find the CKPS. Does anyone know where it should be on the diesel engine?

If I remember correctly, it's at the back of the engine, on the right side, halfway down. But I can't take a look or picture because my i30 is in a repair shop.

Hey @NotAMechanic thanks for your reply. I'll take a look tomorrow when I'm under the vehicle again.

Yep, thanks to @NotAMechanic I found it, as he said, looking up from underneath the vehicle, at the rear of the engine, it is on your left hand side, on the bell housing, about half way up.  the connector is accessible from the top of the engine, looking from the front it is on the right hand side clipped on to the side of the engine.
