Title: I3o EPB switch replacement
Post by: Rlpozza on January 20, 2025, 01:54:05
Why can't you buy an EPB switch for a RHD i30 in Australia?
I am on my 3rd switch now in a 2018 N Line. First one replaced under warranty no worries but replacing the second one seems to be a drama. I managed to modify a LHD  switch easily enough but I want a genuine RHD switch. Can't seem to find one anywhere in the world. Seems Hyundai has got us stitched up on this item.

Sounds like an opportunity and challenge. I note the switch has about 18 contacts in two rows on the connector, no idea how 'smart' it needs to be, but cannibalising an old one to preserve the circuit and re-engineering a 3D printed version with a better spring-loaded toggle switch might just become a new global enterprise.

Well
... wife got home 10 minutes ago to say her PD's EPB is broken. Sounds like I'll be doing this one first-hand!
Now to study up on how to remove the console, then plan a 3D printed replacement.

Hi,

Got this replaced under "good-will" warranty a few months ago - car is 7 years old.

Check with Hyundai - they may come to the party and help.
