Title: 2012 i30 GD 1.6 Turbo Diesel Fan Belt Replacement
Post by: mojoz on March 12, 2025, 11:13:36
Hi Guys

Wife came home from shopping and says "you better take a look at the car it's making funny noises and the air con has stopped" bloody great just what i needed, upon further inspection i found out what the funny noise was, it was the fan belt doing a runner. The local Hyundai dealer had none in stock and would order one ex Perth + freight approx $100.00. So i checked out the local Nappa dealer(formaly Coventry Motors) and they had one in stock a Gates Micro V belt 5PK1810 for $70 so i grabbed that and went home. When i looked at all the pullys i thought bloody hell where where does this belt fit into all this mess and as the original belt had gone walkabout i had nothing to copy from.
So the usual youtube search revealed almost every model Hyundai had a different setup and a different pully system to the one in my car.
So after a very long search i eventualy found this video on youtube   :link: - YouTube (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FZDY_A5T_N4)  which was almost perfect and the guys explains everything including his mudmap of the pully setup and then i found this old picture from this forum which is great. So hopfully anyone changing drive belts has a better idea of the basic setup and hope all your pullys are ok.
