So I was wondering how far everyone regularly commutes to work.
It doesn't have to be in your i30, but we'll probably assume it is
-
Just down 1 flight of stairs - I'm retired......................

Usually 7kms each way but sometimes 50kms if i'm relieving at Burnie or lately 2 days a week helping in Launceston 100kms each way  (so much for semi retired)

About 20 minutes (or 30kms) of mostly open road each way.
On with the cruise control, turn up the radio and enjoy the sight of full dams and spring lambs........ :D :D

I wish I had that commute
-
110 km each way.
I did it on motorcycle for 5 years (train during winter), but finally got enough of the rain and bought my i30 for the wet and cold days :)
Takes about 20-30 minutes longer in the car as I can't ride between the lanes any more and the fuel display makes it a bit of a sport to drive as economically as possible. I've finally become one of those slow snails I used to be so annoyed about, but at least I'm averaging 4.5l/100km :)

That's a gr8 average brian.. you've got to be happy with that.. A lot safer and more comfortable than a bike too...

do i vote for one way or the return trip? :-[
-
I was thinking one way.
-
Had some work to do today.
85 klm each way.
Tomorrow it'll be about 110 klm each way (other side of Brisbane).
-
I was thinking one way.
cheers :)
i voted the 10-20 miles
i actually travel slightly further than the 32 k's - it's closer to 37, but i decided i just scrape into that category.
there's been an advert on tv this last week about walk to work day and/or catch public transport and ditch the car. according to whereis.com that would take me approx 8 hours to walk to work. the only bus is the school bus that goes to the other town, where perhaps i could catch a taxi from there. that would still take well over an hour and probably cost me almost as much as i'd earn for the day. the single morning national train has to be booked in advance and is outside my working hours and still goes to the wrong town.

Sure am. I can just manage about 4.8 l/100km on the bike, but it's not really fun driving it that way and it uses petrol which is more costly than diesel in Denmark. It's also nice being able to feel my fingers and toes when I arrive at work - something I often couldn't in the end of the bike season.
-
lol snowcherry... i hate ads like that...
sure ill ride my bike to work
*hops on imaginary bike*
hrmm i better leave now so i can be at work on time
*doesnt sleep*
OR
*catches bus*
problem is where i live the first bus comes at 7am... i start work at 6... and no busses go with in 5~10km of my work... AND i would hate to think of how many forms of transport/change overs i would need to do...
-
11 km of "pure" traffic...
-
I'm 13 miles each way - Should have bought a diesel
-
43km each way :) Bluebelle will be due for her 1st service by the end of next week :faint:
-
67.5km each way. Brisbane to Gold Coast. Got the car on 4/6/10. Its now approaching 18,000k poor thing....
-
I live only 3km from work, so I either walk or bus it. The i30 really only gets driven on weekends, but usually about 400km round trips.
