GOT PROBLEMS OR ISSUES? => DIESEL => Topic started by: andarkelben on April 03, 2025, 08:27:59

I just chaged the battery in my key fob, a couple of days ago, and ever since the remote buttons haven't worked. The red light on the fob blinks, but the light in the receiver, in the car, does not. I drive a i30 kombi (GD) 1.6 CRDi (110Hk) from 2014.
The car manual says nothing about reconnecting the key fob. I've tried some of the solutions I've found on the web;
- Get in car, close doors, turn to acc-mode, hold "Unlock" or "Lock" button until light blinks, done
...but nothing works.
The key itself works fine, and starts the car without any problems.
Anyone know if, and how, the key fob needs to be reconnected to the car?

Can you try another battery? No "reconnection" is necessary.

I'll get hold of a new pack of batteries, though the one currently in was brand new, when I replaced it the other day.
Also, the fob blinks red whenever I push a button.

I seem to remember a similar issue with new key fob battery. Although new it didn't operate doors etc. Old battery still had some life left in it and worked until I purchased good quality new battery. Then OK. There should be no need to "reconnect" or anything.

Ok, I'll try swapping batteries.
Just for good order, do I remember correctly that the receiver in the front of the dash, just under the window, blinks when it recognizes a press on the key fob?
