Hi everyone. First off I just wanted to say thanks for the warm welcome I got. I have had the car for a day and a half and it is exceeding my expectations! Here is just a few pics so far. It has rained here on the Gold Coast ever since I got it so no real good shots yet.
From the back. The Gold badging was a free extra and its growing on me.

Back side on. Another free extra was the 225/40 18 wheels. I think they are the ones off the Santa Fe.

Hi again Audio.. seen gold badging on lots of Hondas and a few other brands but think that yours is the first i30 i've seen with it (nice).. :mrgreen:
I saw a Vivid Blue i30 today with nearly identical mags to yours (I was in traffic so couldn't take a phot unfortunately) but they only looked like 15" (didn't look half as good) :cool:

Just wanted to say that I have had to learn some real self control today. It was so wet and I had a new car, yet I refrained from pretending I was Ken Block (sorry don't know who drives for Hyundai).

Thanks guys. I have to say, I am very happy with the car. I rides better than the wife's Mazda 3, handles as well as my old sss Pulsar (which had some mods), heaps quicker than the mother in laws Corolla, outside styling matches my dad's new BMW, and looks as nice inside as my mates Impreza. Gone are the days when Hyundai were second class citizens! Just don't tell anyone or the price of the new cars will go up.
Only complaint so far is that I must have got one of the crap Hyundai 1G USB sticks as mine always goes back to the first song! Damn its annoying. It will find its way to the bin. Lucky they are lying around at work, so I will just grab a new one.

The ride is good. It is not as soft as say the wife's Mazda 3, but I like it better.
The roads on the Gold Coast are average. There is always alot of development going on, so I have been cruising the new estate near my place where the roads are new and there is very little traffic. Might take the car up the mountain today if the roads dry off. I will have to cruise through Surfers on Sat. night with the stereo at full, and see if I can blend in with the other try hards! Maybe do some street racing and get my car impounded. :lol:

Thanks for the compliments and comments. I took a little holiday so I haven't got the tinting done yet (next weekend I hope). So far so good, this is the best car I have ever owned, bar none!

:D I have just discovered that the i30 looks so good that people assume that I want to race them. On the way home from work someone tried to drag me in an excel. They won the silver! (I have been watching too much commonwealth games)

do you really have a gold badge or is that a refection of something yellow/gold thats in front of you, but it would be good if it is, jps special F1 look alike

Yes all my badges are gold. It looks good against the black. I wouldn't have normally got them as they are about $600 extra, but they were on the car and they didn't charge me for them so...why not. I am yet to see anyone else who has them.

Almost certain no-one in the club (other than you) has gold badges .. I suspect it is not a commonly known option .. Look excellent on black, would look o/k on other dark colours I suspect (and red?) not so sure about on sky blue or white...

Seems to be a big thing with Hondas (and a few Toyotas) :cool:
