Title: Oil Leak Issue (on top of rocker cover) – Hyundai i30 CRDi 1.6 Diesel (2010)
Post by: delta89 on April 12, 2025, 13:30:47
Hello,

I have a 2010 Hyundai i30 CRDi 1.6 diesel with an oil leak I’m trying to diagnose. Oil is collecting in the small recess around one fuel injector, on the rocker cover—specifically pooling in one injector well  - the other three have no leaks (see attached photo).

Here’s what I’ve done so far:
Despite this, the oil leak continues in the same area - the left hand injector recess There’s no visible oil coming from obvious spots like the filler cap or camshaft seal. Rocker cover bolts were torqued to spec.

Before I remove the rocker cover again, any suggestions on what else to check?

Cheers in advance.

This image is reversed, right? It's the injector next to the oil filler cap.

You may have pressure in the system pushing oil "mist" from a faulty cap seal.
