Title: 2012 i30 CRDi FD lost power

My 2012 i30 CRDi FD manual wagon (with 365000 km) has suddenly lost power below 2800rpm
Drove to work on Thursday without a problem.
Got in to drive home, started perfectly, but no power.  Pushed accelerator to the floorboard and revs very slowly crept up, then suddenly at 2800rpm, away it went.
If I let the revs fall below 2800rpm, I battle to get them up again.
Drove home (68km) keeping the revs up.
The next morning it started perfectly, I was ready to take it to the Hyundai agent but the problem was gone!
But that evening, the problem was back again, but worse - idles terribly.
No error lights on the dash.
Got my local mechanic friend around with diagnostic scanner and found no fault codes.
Because it restarted the next day, I would be suspecting a faulty sensor somewhere, but the scanner showed nothing.
Any ideas on what might be wrong?

this is Limp mode be sure you have done transmission fluid/filter and engine oil maintenance so you don't have bigger problems later...

Can be the fuel filter housing.  They often get minute cracks which draw air and cause poor acceleration.  Replace with one from a breakers or new and fit a genuine filter not aftermarket.
