Title: EPS Light & ESP OFF Lights both on - 1.6 CRDi 2010
Post by: HiUnDai on June 27, 2025, 11:04:52
Hi

About 3 weeks ago both the above lights started to appear on my dash.

I tried some of the common online/YouTube fixes like turning on & off the ignition 5 or 25 times etc.

Took it to a local garage that run some diagnostics and said they'd cleared the lights.  They returned a few days later

Took it to another place that showed me the codes.

The lights are still on and there is absolutely no change to the drive or power steering other than a clicky sound when turning steering left or right, which I've had for 18 months.  Possibly due to a worn rubber bushing/part which costs peanuts and I've bought it if  required

codes are

C1260
Steering sensor abnormal
Permanent

C1261
Steering angle sensor signal circuit low voltage
Permanent

Hoping someone can point me in the right direction as to what the issue is and how it could be resolved.

15 year old car with 124000 on the clock.

Hi, mine's been like that for the past 18 months or so with no change in operation.
I've had a bag of the rubber bushings for ages and when I get around to replacing it, I'll know whether that resolves the lights problem.

It's an automatic MOT failure in the UK so these lights are worrying me

Would it be quicker to remove the dash and blank off the lamp windows temporarily?
