Post by: Ugly Mongrel on October 06, 2010, 02:42:39

I have read the owner's manual and tried every method know to woman to remove it. I have even had other people have a got at removing the little blighter with no success.

^^^^
Your nails might be a bit longer than mine.

I didn't really cut myself but I can't get it out.
Figure it has something to do with that silver clip at the back.

Anybody????????

BTW. I don't need to take it out. I just store a couple of keys for my surfboard fins in there, wrapped in cloth so they don't rattle.

here is how to remove the ash tray...

note the 2 half circle cut outs!!

grasp them and pull up!

this happens!

then once its uncliped pull the tray out
(http://i1218.photobucket.com/albums/dd416/agentr31/maxima%20and%20i30/DSCF5508.jpg)

instalation is the reverse!

seat the insert like so, make sure its pushed back as far as it will go
(http://i1218.photobucket.com/albums/dd416/agentr31/maxima%20and%20i30/DSCF5509.jpg)

then push down like so and it should "click" in!
