Title: I30 FD lower arm ball joint torque spec?
Post by: Puufa on August 13, 2025, 14:25:43
Hi, could someone here kindly help me to find the torque spec for the front lower arm ball joint on my 2011 FD, specifically the type with the threaded body which screws into the hub carrier.

I've been searching high and low with no luck and I'd rather not guesstimate with such a critical component.

TIA!

I've always had to get a mechanic I knew to replace those, because they were so tight. He had a heavy duty impact wrench and 50mm socket. Do you have the proper tools to remove it?

I've already got it out but you're absolutely right about it being tight! Even my big boy Kawasaki impact wrench struggled at first until I made some strategic cuts to the joint and then it came off relatively easy. I can post a picture if someone else here feeling confident enough to try it at home?

Anyway, I'd still very much appreciate the torque spec if anyone here has access to such info. Many thanks!
