Title: Hyundai i30 Se T-Gdi Auto 1.4 Petrol - Transmission or Fuel Issue?
Post by: Xena on October 30, 2025, 18:02:40
Hoping someone can give me advice or a solution on my cars issues as mechanics seem to have no proper answer and I don’t want to get rid of the car.

- Rumbling for 3-4 minutes on start up, revs stay above 1k rpm until it stops rumbling.

- Shudders immediately when going in to drive on cold mornings.

- If don’t let warm up have massive lack of power when pulling off, no matter what mode I'm in and rumbles every 5 seconds in idle.

- If not used for more then 3 days, when pulling off the engine will wobble like crazy and jumps forward 6-7 times and then is okay again (it’s thrown screws out it’s that’s bad)

- When fuel is below 70 miles the lack of power comes back, struggles in rolling traffic, doesn’t drop below 1k rpm on start up and overall feels sluggish.

I work at a garage and I’ve had them & Hyundai check it multiple times, there’s a rear main crank seal leak but was cleaned and checked again a month later and was only a few drops, its had a gearbox relearn by Hyundai, spark plugs have been changed (previous was orangy/blue colour), air pipe had a small lining of oil in the bottom but nothing on the filter, there’s no codes and software has been checked and all systems turned on and it’s also regularly been serviced and runs on premium fuel. I’m also getting the gearbox serviced soon as just hit 90k but gearbox oil has already been checked 2 months ago and wasn’t low.

I’ve done lots of research and believe it to be either the fuel pump or high pressure fuel pump but either the parts or fitting is costly and none of the mechanics are sure it will help, so just wondering if anyone has had similar or can give any advice at all on what to do.
