So as an owner of a 2015 i30 1.6 crdi DCT after 235000km, the unfortunate time has come that I need to replace the dual clutch system and actuator.
The issue started when after many months of noticing the clutch slipping on acceleration and rough starts, the gear changes were rough and the car would hesitate to accelerate after changing the odd gears. I was quoted around 4000€ for the fix, but since this is my "good" car (I have another Toyota vitz with 310000km on the clock that runs like a new one) I will need to fix it.
Kind of ridiculous that after changing the clutches at 70000km ( :link: Clutch needs replacement after 77000 km for DCT (https://i30ownersclub.com/index.php?topic=52364.0) ) I now need to fix it again. Service and oil changes are always on time, I don't mistreat the car and especially the gearbox as I know how sensitive it can be.
Considering that the market price of the car in Cyprus is around 6000-7000€ with this mileage (can be lower as well), 4000€ is like buying another car with all the issues that can appear later (turbo, DPF issues).
Will try to hold on to it for another year or so to make up for some of the cost, and move to a different car. Would not consider another DCT car ever again.

I feel blessed with the i30 I've had new since 2009. No DPF, no dual clutch, no TPMS, just perfect driving performance every day.
It's now for sale since I've moved on to an EV but Mrs G still has her trouble-free i30PD SR (touch wood) so I'll still be around.
Yours is not a decision replete with good options and I can't really assess the market in Cyprus but I wish you the best in whatever action you take.

The previous model with the normal gearbox is much more reliable as far as I know. The dual clutch system is just something you know will eventually break, the point is just when.
The parts prices are also ridiculous, 1600€ for the actuator and around 1800€ for the clutches from Hyundai original parts.
I ended up fixing the car since I have no other choice at this moment, the total cost was €3900.
Also my mechanic cleared the intakes since there was a lot of carbon inside from the EGR system. The system they need all modern diesels to have in order to save the planet, while other travel by jets daily and bombs go around like its the 4th of July.
Its times like this that I really appreciate my Toyota vitz 2003, simple car, all it needs its your love, oil changes and service on time.
