Title: dino's drive
Post by: dino on October 24, 2010, 13:04:59
Thought I'd post some quick pics that I took of her in the driveway tonight. Foglamps look great. I feel like driving with the all the time, but it is illegal here.

Will wash her tomorrow (still looking for a name) and post some nicer pics.

Also got the bluetooth kit in and I can say it works perfectly. It connects to the iPhones voice control and hence I can use it while driving, pressing no buttons at all. I yell "i30!" and it responds to me. I love it.

Hi Dino.

I can't see your images as they appear to need a logged-in account on dl-web.dropbox.com  :'(

Yep we need more pix, but surely an "i30 :margarine:" would be a bit wobbly in Melbourne

Yes the Hyundai bluetooth kit was well worth it, I love how it controls the radio (off and back on again) when a call comes in. Also has VERY loud and clear sound with my HTC Desire, much better than my previous installed bluetooth kit (go-talk)..

Black i30s FTW

Bluetooth kit was aftermarket. I bought it from Amazon for $AU100. I believe it is the same one Hyundai fits. Parrot CK3000. Was very easy to install, I must say.

More pics. Washed her today, am really disappointed with my technique though. Will take it somewhere to be cleaned on thursday, and then I need to invest in some proper cleaning materials.

Doesn't look the same as the one they fitted, though I'm sure it probably works the same..

Your washing technique seems pretty good to me.
Glad you managed to fix the voice recognition of the bluetooth kit

Looking at the 4th pic, a name reflected there: "sky30"

Haha, I took pictures before I cleaned the inside. And I need to find some mats. Anyone know where I can pick up some cheap but nice ones?

Babis, I can't see the link you posted, but I do like sky30.

Thanks to everyones comments. :)

Also, got a micro fibre cloth today and gave her a run over with that. Looks much better and no bloody streaks. Very happy.

But it just rained in Melbourne. :(

Hi Dino hopefully you can get the genuine mats on ebay for $60 or less (They fit better than generic ones)

yer do a search... ive put the price on here somewhere! they are not much and good quality... what i like is they have a smooth back

i hate the ones that have the spikey back as i feel they "do more damage than good" by rubbing the carpet under them!

That is one of my favourites, Andoni. What a song!

Had an encounter with a Mazda 3 MPS today. Was gunning him for the first 50 metres and then I remembered I am still wearing my engine in. Was disappointing to see him beat me, especially because I am so used to killing little cars off the lights with the Commodore.

Ah well... when it is worn in I'll find Mr Mazda again.

NB: He was the one trying to engage me. He came in the left lane which was to merge 100m down the street, so he was being cheeky.

Mazda 3 mps??? Sorry, but i don't think you have any changes against 260 hp
But you have good chances if you upgrade yours, up to 30.000€ that a Mazda 3 MPS costs
Anyway, 50 meters seems fine to me 8)

**actually, my name is Babis. I dont have the qualifications for Adonis

Would have liked to have beaten him, but am sure his power would have mauled me had we gone any further. I could see him having fun! I hit 60 and pulled off the accelerator.

Do the MPS's really have 260HP? that's insane. No wonder he was being like that.
