Title: (almost) New from Sydney, Australia
Post by: dimitri on October 31, 2010, 13:23:39
Hi, new owner of 2009 i30 SX CRDi Manual. I say almost because I haven't picked it up yet, will do later this week.

I also want to thank Lorian for his brilliant VIN decoder (https://www.i30ownersclub.com/forum/index.php?topic=6298.0 (https://www.i30ownersclub.com/forum/index.php?topic=6298.0)), which helped me figure out I'd bought the MY09, not MY08, model (built Nov 2008), making me even happier with my purchase!

Cheers,
Dimitri

Hi Dimitri and welcome.. Would be very interested to know what sort of mileage it has done and what sort of figure you paid (if you don't mind sharing that) Just ignore my question if you would rather not..

I'm guessing this site helped you a lot with your shopping

Hi Dazzler, happy to share.

The car has 18,800Kms on the odometer, and I bought it for $14,750 (including trade-in of my almost worthless 13yr old car). The price (excl. trade-in) they wrote down was $17,350 - a pretty good deal I thought.

Regards,
Dimitri

You did very well...

I got approx A$17,000 trade-in allowance for my Feb 2008 build Manual CRDi SLX hatch with nearly 70,000 on the clock and they tried hard to sell it for A$19,990 (took a while though)

You got a worthwhile saving on new (I am sure you will be very happy with her) any idea why the previous owner only kept her a year or so??

I did a history check with the RTA and it was registered to a business, but the dealer took ownership back after about seven months. I can only assume the business went bust or couldn't meet the payments. So it's effectively been on the road for only about seven months - but did quite a few Km's in that time.
