Hi Guys
Well Rally Vic has run and we now have 3 Australian titles under our belt, 1st Showroom, first Eco and 1st P4 (over 2litre)
While we had a few drama's leading up to the weekend including a cracked sump (long embarrasing story) Reece went good and we finished about 4pm, great change from Rally SA where we finished in the dark and Rally Qld when we missed the second run through 2 stages.
media day went well on Friday, we were there to give our Dealership apprentices who were joining the team for the weekend a run in the car. The event started at 2pm and it was pretty hot. We did 2 stages that were 22km long and trashed as set of tyres, the roads were abrasive and with the heat tyres were gunna be an issue.
Friday night was 2 runs at the super special stage at Lardner Park. just as we were about to start the heavens opened up and the rain teamed down. I broke the mirror glass off the drivers door on a water tank.
Saturday morning and it was still raining. The first 2 stages were not kind to either the i30 or the other 15 Hyundai's as they were up hill most of the time. heavy fog made the fast stuff very tuff and we played it easy in the fog. The next 3 stages were fantastic, really suited the i30 and the excels, lots of mid speed cambered switch back corners, great fun and probably the most the i30 has slid around. I nailed the first part of the first spectator point but ran out of Horse power and it got very ugly.
The event was called off after these bechause of potential road damage., not much anyone can do about the weather.
Our team release will be out tomorrow and I'll post it with some pics
