Has anyone had a go at removing the air bag warning stickers on the sunvisors? They look like they are stuck on very well and I don't want to risk damaging the sunvisor trying to remove them.
Any comments would be much appreciated. :D
I'd like to get rid of them as I reckon they make my baby look a bit tacky.

Hi Ugly Mongrel,
you could try a hair dryer, heat them up, this will normally allow easy removal of stickers, but i have not tried it on those air bag warning stickers.
-
I would love to know, my Civic had those tacky things too, I tried removing them on that car and got nowhere fast.. :'(
-
LOL
funny you mention that, i was picking at them today in traffic... seems to be one of the best stickers ive come across (not that i actually pulled them off)
-
I reckon they are sort of painted on (Might even be a sort of offence to remove them...)
-
Try some eucalyptus oil...that usually works a treat on dissolving sticker glue..... :)

I have to ask the obvious question ---- Why do you want to remove other than "they make my baby look a bit tacky"?
No one can see it other than you and your passenger and only when you pull down the visor.
Is this not a legal requirement to have this warning notice as it prompts any user of the car to the important warning regarding the air bag deployment eg. use of a child seat.
-
I agree, we should have an Xtreme modZ section where the starting topic is Ultim8 Debadging

For me, it is just annoying as they are bright and colourful.. Legally you can't use car seats in the front in Australia even if you don't have airbags, so it is a mute point... They might as well have stickers telling you to drive on the left, or to wear your seatbelt and not drive over the speed limit
-
they are bright and colourful..
On mine the writting is a greyish colour and blends in on the visor.
Please post a picture so I can visualise the issue you describe

The stickers in Oz are yellow and black and quite large. I had no other reason for wanting to remove them apart from aesthetics.
I'll get a pic posted for the non-OZ members.

Just put a cd visor holder over it and every time you put it down you get a lap-full of cd's .!!! :D OH and don't tear the tag off your bed or you will go to jail .

On checking today, UK model, there is no sticker.
The writting is embossed onto the visor fabric.
You could if you wanted try and remove it but it would leave the visor in a mess.
To be honest I'd never really noticed it until I'd read this thread and when the visor is "out" blocking what little sun we get here, the writting is pointing up towards the sky..

Hey eye30, Here are the pics of the Oz warning stickers as promised. I really hate seeing them up there, but they look too hard to remove without damaging the visor surface.

Here are the UK MY2008 version, don't know if it has changed for the newer models?
Apologies for the blur, the camera was focussing on the outside, but you get the idea :-[ :-[

Thanks bumpkin. Obviously very different warning labels in the UK. Yours are nowhere near as bold as ours.
By the way, you can thank God Jonny Wilkinson wasn't playing or the Wallabies would have flogged you

That'll be ENGLAND you are talking about :P :P :P
I am happily getting on with life, having started yesterday knowing that the All Blacks would give us a kicking and of course being proven correct (49-3)
Crossing my fingers for Mr Webber this afternoon, think it's about time Australia had an F1 champion, last time was 1980
-
I reckon you could get a sunvisor from another car (probably a Hyundai) with similar colour material on the visor (from a wreckers yard) and cannibalise it to get some vinyl to carefully glue over the warning label...
Thanks for supporting Webber Brian...
-
On my car those stickers are on the side of the dash, passenger side, and are hidden when the door is closed.
-
we have those too...
-
Thanks for supporting Webber Brian...
:D :D
Well Hamilton is pretty much out of it, Alonso has already done it, Vettel will do it in the future, I reckon this is Marks best chance, however the coverage has just started and it would appear he already has some form of problem :'(
-
Bumpkin, Do you mean this Mark Weber

I didn't say he was the best, I said it was his best chance!!
-

Is that the same as ENG - ER- LAND I wonder :D
-
I hate them as well. I started picking at the driver side one a while ago, mines half off (sort of - if you pick it, theres a clear sticker thats really hard to remove) and looks worse. I tried some basic sticker removal stuff that didn't do anything, may try eucalyptus oil when I get around to it.
