Been a while since ive posted anything of interest up here.
After installing the double din fascia, and scuffing it lightly I got round to painting it, although after painting it, despite masking off the surrounding area some overspray occured. When I tried to remove the overspray the black surrounding area reacted a bit.
A spur of the moment idea seen me getting a biut of black suede and setting to work on covering the whole centre fascia.
I want to go back over it some time and do an even better job, but driving around with no centre console irritates me
The 1st picture is how the fascia looked after being just sprayed. Rubbed down, primed then painted with silver paint.
Looks ok from here, but im too picky and ddnt lke the small overspray bits.
2nd picture is after the material was stuck on i cut the needed holes
3rd and 4th r the finished ones. Not 100% happy with the non tight areas, will maybe re-do it in the summer wen i get a chance..
Think overall tho its pretty awesome.
THought and comments please guys :)

Hi m8 you couldn't have either just carefully scratched the overspray off or paint the whole thing silver..
Sorry but the suede needs a lot more work.. :-[

Not my cup of tea either Si
(PS, I replaced your attachments with links to pics on my PB account: see here (https://i30ownersclub.com/forum/index.php?topic=6975.0) why I did that ;))

Hye guys, in all honesty I'm not digging it either cuz its a bit bad looking, but on the plus side I was in talks with an upholsterer with a good reputation up the road from were i Live that can do it for around £70. It is very tempting, I think if done right it would look well

Doesn't do it for me either, I prefer the painted one

Would something like this do the job, seems a good price compared the £170+ most places. I've never personally used this supplier though
"Hyundai i30 Double DIN fascia adapter to allow you to replace your vehicle's original factory fitted stereo without spoiling the look of your dashboard."

I've since painted the fascia, the suede effect died after a while, even getting a pro to do it, never looks great :(
