I was meandering around the Beijing Hyundai website to see if there was anything new, and saw the new Verna hatch
http://www.beijing-hyundai.com.cn/productshow/product_verna2.aspx (http://www.beijing-hyundai.com.cn/productshow/product_verna2.aspx)
It looks like they grafted the rear of the i30 onto the Verna sedan. Looks quite good.
-
it looks like its a bit of the i30 and a bit of the KIA ceed mixed together.
-
Looks mean and hungry, and excellent in light metallic blue :)
-
That was really good and with no pun intended ... It was a little hard to navigate in Chinese ?
It was really interesting tla and there was a couple of different colours available for the i30 section ..... Cheers :goodjob:
-
The images on that site didn't want to load on my slow ADSL.. but I did google the Verna.. not a bad looker :goodjob:
Although I like the sedan better... (Basically our upcoming i35 I think)

Yeah I think you might be right Lester... :goodjob: (I finally got it to load too)
Strange how Google brings up something more like the new elantra/i35 in a lot of the pix (although looking more closely might be slightly smaller (Maybe and i25 is coming)
Quick google search - Bingo :D

Looks overdone to me like the Xi35 i don't like the style, so what's exciting under the hood? what does it handle & stop like? thats were i'm more interested.

Hi Daz ..... looked at that link and as you say its a i25 or accent ... don't mind the sleek look of the front but the side panels are terrible Hyundai seem to be going back to that long indent 'carpark damaged look' it use to have in the early model santa-fe's.
-
It's about the same size as a Ford Fiesta.
When I was shopping for the i30, I did try to sit inside the Verna sedan: the leg room (both front and rear seats) is similar to the i30, though the width is noticeably smaller. The fit and finish was similar to the i30.
The base model had only a 1.4L engine and drum brakes in the back.
-
eww drum brakes!!! you dont expect that this day in age!
-
They still use rear drums on many small cars....Doesn't stop them from pulling up on a sixpence.... :goodjob:
-
i suppose if it does the job.
-
In the UK most Focus and Fiesta get rear drums. I know you don't need discs on the back by my goodness the drums look bad with alloys (especially when rusty).

Tend to overheat and fade more readily than discs, too.
