Title: Test with car video camera.
Post by: bumpkin on December 27, 2010, 16:46:17
Nothing spectacular here just a wee test with the video camera yesterday when coming home.  I think it struggled a bit with focus as it was getting darker all the way home, but this gives you an idea of the thing actually working.  Ignore the date/time stamp, I am struggling to get the thing to do that properly, probably my dodgy intrepretation of the dodgy chinese/english translation supplied in the instructions

Works well given the light.

What model is it? On my muvi and clone you put a file in the root of the sd card to seed the date and time.

Yeah, that is what you are meant to do with this, create a tag file on the root of the card with the date and time, which should from what I can glean from the instructions then read the PC system date and time and sync them then apparently delete the file from the SD card automatically

If it does this then the PC works properly but the date/time is not set, if the file stays on the card then the PC doesn't see the card :needhelp:

on mine you actually had to type the date and time into the contents of the right name file using notepad. Then when it read the date and time it deleted the file.

I think that this is what I need to do with this one as well, but that means doing the "sync" everytime you switch it off.  Do you have two "off" modes, like a standby where it simply goes to sleep and another switch which is like a hard reset?

Good vid, considering the dim light :)

If you switch it off using the small slider switch, you will lose the date/time. Edit the TAG.TXT file on your PC then simply copy it to the root of the card. Switch off at the slider, then switch it back on - date/time will remain set. Turn it off "softly" by a single press of the button; if you keep it pressed (until the blue light comes on) you will lose the date/time again.

My replacement is on its way.

Great vid given the poor outside lighting.

Hope to see more of the Granite City especially when the light is good.

In the uS it was a Pontiac so went with the rest of the brand.
Wonder how much longer they'll keep them going in the UK?
