I spent about 3 years in Phoenix Arizona. As a person from Sydney the heat (up to about 50 C) was just a bit of a shock.
The only cure for car A/C on cars that were post the R-12 refrigerant era was a replacement refrigerant called cooltop.
In ridiculous heat, I had 2 degree C air blowing out my vents with the fan on high.

They recommend two cans for a charge, but I would recommend one to start with. Two was too much for my car over there, and the overpressure switch kept cutting in. With one can, it was just freaking awesome.
I am not affiliated with these guys at all. Just wanted to share.
Cheers,
Pete

Good tip thanks Pete.. Although I won't need it in Tassie (I better not ever go to Arizona) :scared:

The front page of their website was last updated in 2001
I did a bit of a google and very little info other than their site came up..
Although in hindsight it would have been google oz..

The website certainly isn't quite up to date with current trends, and 2001 is about when I last purchased some. I'll be getting some for the new beast, hope it ships to Oz. Will keep you posted with before and after vents temps in the i30.
Still waiting on the car pickup date! How can time go so slow?
