-
Woo Hoo....congrats! :goodjob:
-
Congratulations
:welcome: to the :i30: forum

Hi Guys..
Here is the car at the dealers and what the wheels she has chosen look like. (I will attempt to photoshop them on a bit later)
They are on special at Bob Janes for $119 + fitting (they wanted $15 per wheel for stripping and fit and balance but we beat them down to $10 :goodjob:) Using original tyres as Trish is no racer... :D
We don't really like the silver finish on the roof racks so I will probably spray them black for her... :winker:

-
I think it's gonna look really cool !!
-
Smashing. I like those new alloys :D
-
:goodjob: :goodjob: :goodjob:
Love it, great price on the rims, I was looking at getting another set and would be looking at about £800 (AU$ 1285) upwards for 4 with tyres :faint:
-
Here's a quick and dodgy photoshop of Trish's CW with the wheels added and black rather than silver roof bars...
What is the general consensus regarding the roofbars Black or Silver better on this colour?
-
What is the general consensus regarding the roofbars Black or Silver better on this colour?
Definitely black - to match the door handles and window surrounds
-
We were going to get the silver door handle covers but maybe no need now...?
-
looks nice dazz. i like your choice of wheel, good price also. :goodjob:
-
looks nice Dazz. i like your choice of wheel, good price also. :goodjob:
Yeah, Wife chose nice wheels didn't she :goodjob: :D
-
good choice Trish. :goodjob:
-
To be honest we were lucky they had quite a few wheels on clearance at Bob Janes but as usual the cheaper ones (under $100) were either sold out or not available in 15"
We tried the local Beaurepaires but the guy on the desk was very off hand with Trish (not a good idea :faint:) so she went back to Bob Janes and sorted a deal on the Hyper ones (work well with the light surrounds etc...)
-
my wife doesent take any lip from sales staff, she gives it back twice as bad. :scared:
-
Nice wheels Trish.
And I agree the roof rails should be black.
-
The pending new wheels look first class Dazz :)
My advice with the roof-rails .. stay with the silver it's the 2011+ look :).
Not being a smarty :winker: but as we all know Black is the new Silver in the body trend colour ..... and now they've made Silver the trend colour for roof rails and even x bars.
That pale blue suites silver ... yes :D
-
Bars :rofl:= Pink
I prefer the silver
-
I like the car colour and choice of wheels. The roof bars I would have painted matt black if it was mine :goodjob:
-
Thank's everyone for your help with the colour of the roof racks. I like to get some input when changing things.
-
If keeping the black handles then the rails would be better black, but if buying the chrome covers then the rails should stay silver IMHO :D
-
Black is always in fashion.... :goodjob:
-
So here are some pictures .. We will find a nice spot to take some better ones soon (when the windows are tinted and maybe the bars painted Black)
First a couple of pix of our two cars together (CW is a couple of shades darker in some lights) they look good together in the garage... :goodjob:

Was getting a bit late when I took these so look a bit dark even with a tweak :-[
But the wheels look good :winker:

Thanks
-
Wow it looks first class Trish and Dazz :goodjob: ... you both obviously work well as a team :) Love the new wheels very modern and classy well worth whatever the cost, The silver roof rails really suit the pale blue although on mine the silver RR on hypersilver colour is not such a good match ! and what looks even worse is the black 'rola' cross bars but I may spray them silver ? ... They are just over half the cost of the genuine Hyundai and guaranteed for life.
One other thing I did with mine was to remove the badges on the tail gate .... there were just too many "wax traps" ... hyundai, i30 cw, 2.0lt and in my case 'trophy' as well, the only badge I left was the H symbol.
As I know you are going to do .... The window tint will REALLY set it off .... a really cool but a hot looking i30cw
All the best to you both in you new car :).

Hi Trish,
Your sig looks like the car is RadioActive. Or is that just Girl Power :D

Brilliant! A man tries his best, but forgot to arrange the correct light, come on Dazz, sort it out mate!
-
Personally not a fan of the wheels (too skinny in the spoke and too much open area) and i'd leave the roof rails silver...Gaz
Just had another look at the wheels they look great without tyres on them, but i think the blacked out / darker bits on the outer edge make them look unfinished, maybe if the silver continued all round they'd look better.
-
No worries Gaz.. I know where you live... (only joking)
They look better in the flesh.. A girl at work has the same ones on her Black Corolla hatch and they look crap (sorry Kim ) The pictures I've taken so far don't do them justice wait til the windows are tinted and the roof bars are painted black .. Silver is too close to the body colour in our opinion.
They would have looked nicer in say 17" but happy to use the original tyres when Trish does no more than 8000kms per year in our second car..
-
Great car Trish. I hope you treat her better than Dazz did with his Luna (the picture of her trunk filled up with bricks, still brings me nightmares)
Oh and... definetely silver!

Thanks. Definetely no bricks in this one.
-
Great looking car Trish, I'm sure you will be happy with it. I also love the silver roof racks.
Oh and btw, the house really looks great.
-
Hi Accim.. Trish is 3000 kms away visiting family and with limited access to the internet so don't think she is rude if she doesn't respond straight away.. :goodjob:
-
Car looks great
-
Dazzler and Trish, What a fantastic looking car. Congratulations!
Especially like the colour. It makes me want to break out with The Flex polisher and some Menzerna Polishes, but you are a bit too far away at the moment.
Hope you are using protection... er of the paint type. A few coats of jetseal109 would make that paint abolutely gleam.
The chrome on the front and rear of the car looks good. Agree with an earlier post - add some chrome door handles and maybe the chrome stick on bits along the door/window belts. Should make the silver up top look the goods. Bling rules!
Rocket.
-
Thanks Rocket..
Will be getting the windows tinted nice and dark while trish is away.. will take your other ideas on board but in the end have to leave it up to trish (it's her car.. :-[)
-

Thanks, so far I love it, missing not been able to drive it, I was thinking of painting the racks black, because to match the door handles but might just leave them silver.

Here's some pix for Trish of her car which got tinted today...(Yes dear I had Praties for tea :D)
The workmanship looks good same film as mine (Black Azz)
I will photoshop some chrome handle covers on to see if that sets off the silver rails!

DONT OPEN THE WINDOWS FOR 24 HOURS. you could move the tint.
The guys that do our cars take the glass out of the side windows and bake the film on before replacing the glass so it is safe to open and close them but I didn't (Just in case) :goodjob:
-
:goodjob:
-
Thanks Daz, the car looks good, happy with the tint. :brilliant:

Finishes the car off nicely  I will photoshop some silver door handles on when I get a chance.. Just had Ash ring and talk on my mobile for over an hour

:goodjob: are you going to tell us the name of the tint company?
-
:goodjob: are you going to tell us the name of the tint company?
We have used Xtreem window tinting in Devonport for our last 5 or 6 cars.. just changed owners but I think the new guys have done an even better job with Trish's CW :goodjob:
Not sure if they are an Australia wide franchise or not?
The new guys tried to steer me towards a different film with a hint of green in it but I opted for the last of their Black Azz as I thought that would look better with the blue than green would
-
(http://i949.photobucket.com/albums/ad338/babis_xo/i30/TRishTint5_a.jpg)
Hmm, why not?
-
ya done a real good job down in tazzie dazz n Trish. :goodjob: sent via tin cans and string to join them together. :whistler:
-
Thanks Babis.. :goodjob: Saved me doing it.. I think it looks better (But Trish will make the final decision) :winker:
I'm going to order some Chrome handle covers if they don't look right I'm sure I can find some sucker to sell them to...
-
I think the flat black door handles look real good Dazz and so does the flat silver roof rails on your (edit: Trish's) pale blue metallic duco.
I was going to take off my 'rola' roof cross bars today which are flat black, to spray them silver and then realised how flat the silver finish is even bordering on a bright flat grey colour they are ? .... You don't seem to be able to buy a flat silver or aluminium spray can ? ...... So back to the drawing board ???.
-
Thanks Ozbrum.. from Babis's phtoshopped picture I think it looks better with silver handles to match the rails but Trish will make the final choice for her car... :goodjob:
-
Is it my imagination, or do the rear tyres look massively over-inflated?

34 PSi all round... :goodjob:
P.S. Trish said to say hello .. she is missing you guys and the site badly (Missing me a bit too ) She has lost access to a laptop for the last 2 weeks of her visit.. I told her to take hers but worried about making her case too heavy
-
Need to get her a tablet Dazz :winker:

At the moment we have two fairly new laptops and a brand new desktop plus an older but still quite good one.. I think a tablet as well might be overkill for just two people :scared:
She could have used our Netbook if it didn't die recently (terminal - Motherboard )
-
Need to get her a tablet Dazz :winker:
Is this in case she has a headache when she comes home? :winker:

Any internet cafes so she can catch up

Back on topic .. She said on the phone today she is pleased how our cars look in the garage together now.. She really likes things to match :goodjob:

Nothing wrong with tidying up things. As long as it doesn't comes up to ironing
-
-
Trishie is home (as you can probably tell) :goodjob:
While she was away the Windows got tinted.. I put Mudflaps on her car, fitted some tinted Slimline Style Visors (weathershields) and also fitted chrome door handle covers (over the black standard ones) :D
The last two items came directly from Korea Via Ebay at around A$70 all up.. They took about 10 days to arrive just one day before she got home  :goodjob:
Trish is pretty happy with the final results.. I have Tuesday off work and we plan to take the car to a nice spot and take some updated photos.. looks good :winker:
-
:goodjob:

Welcome back Trish! :goodjob:
And good job Daz, bit of major sucking up going on there.... :winker:

Daz has done a real good job with my car, it looks good and I am really pleased with the end result :goodjob:
He had fun driving it while I was away. :)
It is very stable in the wind, better than the Tiida I think.
-
Just an observation.. I was disappointed when they only bought the CW SLX out as an Auto.. But.. the SX manual with Cruise Pack (Cruise and Driving Lights) and a nice set of alloys, tint and a few other little tweaks becomes quite a nice little vehicle with quite a $$$ saving :goodjob:
-
and you get the slx seats standard.

Here are some updated pix with a closeup of the Chrome handle covers and Style Visors (which are not as rounded as they looked on Ebay)

We think the silver roof rails look ok now the Handles are silver too... :goodjob:

The chrome handles tidy her up a lot, I like it :goodjob: :goodjob: :goodjob:

The car looks good

I'd consider buying the wind visors but as the weather here in UK is never warm enough to have the window open for too long it would be a pointless purchase.

Some updated pictures of Trish's car with the new plates and the Hyundai Emblems on the wheels and the sports badges on the back and side.. All the good spots to take photos were busy today (lovely sunny day) and even the latest photoshop couldn't do much with all that glare (probably should have waited until sunset like the car mags do)

I worked out part of the problem had my camera on Macro :faint: (only noticed when replacing the memory card)
Usually do our car shots at dawn or dusk for the same reason...

Hi Dazz :)
Looks really good mate, simple as it seems fitting the mud flaps (as I've done) is a good idea.
Seeing the photo's of Trish's car ..... it would beg the question 'Why would anyone (like me) pay an extra couple of grand+ for a Trophy badged one' ? :D
:goodjob:
-
Nice pics, even with the macro on
You aren't fans of the debadging fashion, aren't you?

Bump.. Trish always wanted wheels like this on her car but they weren't on offer at a fair price until now (on special at Bob Janes for $99..... so I have offered to get her wheels switched to these and sell her other ones on ebay or gum tree :goodjob: Looking into it on Monday :winker:
New Wheel Top
Old wheel Below

They look nice Dazz.
So they're the same size & you'd just get the tyres swapped over?

They look nice Dazz.

Yep.. Like we did when we got the car.. Trish intends keeping the car for perhaps 10 years or more (will probably only have like 80,000 kms on it by then. So I figure she may as well have wheels she really likes :happydance:
-
Sounds good. I really like them. :goodjob:
-
They look nice but I've always had a preference for something with less spokes as thay are much easier to clean.
But I guess that'll be your problem, not Trish's. :happydance:
-
Trish and I both like really spokey wheels on smaller cars for some reason (My Hybrid has quite a few spokes on the wheels too.. The inside of these Wolfrace wheels are Gloss Black so shouldn't be too bad... :goodjob:

You go girl :goodjob2: Great choice of rims.

Booked for swap on Wednesday :happydance: (photos on the weekend after a wash) if it is fine weather ...
Then we will wait for the Bob Jane Sale to finish before selling her old ones :winker:
-
Excellent - there's a few brownie points there Dazz ;) ;) ;)
-
The RJR - Wolfrace wheels that got put on Trish's CW today look absolutely brilliant.. Photos to come as soon as we get a fine day to was the car..
Anyone (in Australia) that wants some 15" alloys to dress up their SX couldn't go past these for $99 on special at Bob Janes for a limited time.. Trish is wrapped :happydance:
-
That's great Dazz. They certainly look like great value and I'm looking forward to the pics :goodjob2:
-
Here's a picture with the New Wheels .. :happydance: I was going to wash the car today but Trish decided to go visiting so I grabbed this picture before she set off...

Correct Trev... :goodjob:
Trish doesn't like the look of Low Profile Tyres.
It is our second car and by the time we put a spoiler, tint and new wheels on we didn't want the expense of new tyres as well....
-
Got it. :goodjob2:
