Title: Interphases' Radio Problem
Post by: Lorian on March 07, 2011, 17:34:29
<split from another thread>

Just returned from Dealer, after having a new radio fitted (A-200FDE. S/W:V1.00.EUR EEPROM

Umm what was the radio swap for, isn't that quite an old version - that's what mine had from the factory back in 2009.

My (fairly recently replaced) radio has 1.12A.EUR and I think you need at least 1.10.EUR to fix the TA bug.

I thought it was an old version, that is why I posted the info.
The Radio was changed because smoke emitted from the CD slot - see Potential Safety Problem (originally pgc).
When I switched it back on, all FM stations were as before, but the AM required retuning, the car was returned to me within an hour.....

The only difference I found was the TA fix so it's not the end of the world if you don't use it. But if you leave it on it causes small blank pauses in radio playback.

All the radios spares are delt with by a 3rd party company. Whilst its possible it has to be unlikely.

No, maybe a few hours distant, but I am wondering whether they replaced the radio or just checked it out, or installed a reconditioned replacement, but I would still expect the latest software version.
I will challenge them with this old Version Number when I return the vehicle. They are dealing with the rear bump stops and starting issues next week.

There is a company called AEL that the dealers talk to for radio issues, and they handle the spares. If the dealer is persistant enough they should be able to get one with the newest firmware out of them.

OK, should be firmware not software !
I'll see how it goes, thanks.

Yes, it does "skip" the transmission when TA is on.
Reported to the dealer, gave them the Firmware details, but they require the vehicle in to check the serial number.
They knew of the problem!

Yes, previous model AEL supplied had the Firmware TA bug, Firmware 1.0 EUR.
New unit supplied by AEL & fitted by the Hyundai dealer today, Firmware now 1.12 AEUR. LCD contrast is poorer than previous, otherwise radio seems ok.
Thanks for your help.

It had been removed off the immediate display screen, I wonder if there is any other behind the screen.
Thanks for your help.

Ok, I will ask Techie when I get "creaks" fixed.
Thank you.
