Title: Diesel Oil Filters - Two sizes ?
Post by: perakharimau on March 16, 2011, 01:30:34
Hi All

Just concerned about which diesel oil filter I should purchase as there are two sizes  e.g.

http://www.hyspares.com.au/bluecart/categories/i30 (http://www.hyspares.com.au/bluecart/categories/i30)

Now I opened the black oil fiter holder at the front of the engine and it looks like the smaller one without the fluted ends goes here... so wheres the other one go .....

thanks all

Paul

Hi Paul,
If you give the guy at Hyspares (oy Hyundai spares guy) your Vin number he will tell you whether the short or the long one is right for your diesel. Not sure if I read your message correctly but only one filter is fitted...

Cheers,

If you mean the black screw on one -that is a Fuel Filter-very unclear

Yep sorry was prob a bit unclear

I know the one up on the firewall is the fuel filter.

At the front of the engine there is the 'oil' filter.

Update - in speaking with hyspares there are also two types of the fuel filter as well... but yes - as mentioned  if you give the VIN they can sort you out as to which one you'll need... fuel or oil filter.

thanks
