Title: Brake light replacement - help!
Post by: johnnynostars on April 07, 2011, 22:01:04
Hi there,

Has anyone had any experience in replacing the brake lights on the i30?

I am able to unscrew the four screws identified in the owner's manual, but I can't get the panel off to access the bulb itself.

I assume that the fittings are the same on all i30s, but I have an i30 SR, if that helps.

I really want to do this myself as I was quite annoyed at paying $70 for a headlight bulb replacement through my dealer!

Cheers!

i have changed a brake light globe on my wife's cw, twice.  the hatch tail light is held in the same way.

1.open the plastic covers hiding the screws.
2.remove the screws.
3.to remove the tail light you need to give it a bit of a firm pull. [carefully]
4.looking at the back of the light Assembly it has globe sockets with wires coming out of them.
turn the socket anti clock wise to remove the globe socket from the light.
5.to remove the globe from the socket ,carefully push the globe in a bit and turn it anti clock wise.
i hope this helps you.
