Last week the orange TPMS light came on and since then it has been an intermittent problem (at the moment it is illuminated again). None of the tyre low pressure warning lights are showing and the cold pressure readings on all four tyres are spot on at 32 psi.
I'm guessing that the problem is with the on board computer rather than the valves themselves. Has anyone else experienced a similar issue and if so how was it resolved? I was unsure if this fault can be fixed by resetting the TPMS or whether a new part is required?
The car has done just over 21K and is not far away from the second year/25K mile service. As the pressures were ok I was thinking of waiting until the service to ask them to have a look rather than have the inconvenience of taking time off work. Unfortunately the dealer is located some distance from my home and work.

While the TPMS feature is a nice feature to have in theory .. I am sort of glad it isn't offered as standard over here .. Seems to be just an extra thing to go wrong

I'm pretty sure that seeing the TPMS light illuminated means the system isn't working, not that your tyres are deflated... though the absence of a radio signal from any of the four valves could cause the TPMS warning to light up.

Thanks
Will hang fire until I take it for a service in a couple of months as the tyre pressures are ok otherwise I'd have some hassle getting time off work.

Just do a walk around before you drive anywhere though just in case you do get a genuine puncture or slow leek (Should be able to pick it by eye..)

Got it 'fixed' today (the garage cleared the codes) while it was being serviced. However the orange TPMS indicator came on again after only 10 minutes of driving after I'd picked up the car. Not sure if the computer system they plug into the car can detect a faulty sensor which has been suggested in the forum as the most likely cause of the problem. Will have to phone and book it in again tomorrow. Will keep you posted.

New valve fitted under warranty (second one since getting the car). Ten minutes after leaving the garage the orange TPMS light came one again. Back to the garage on Monday... :(
