Title: Price of i30
Post by: Hemmi on September 18, 2008, 21:43:12
So...as the poor weak icelandic krona gets weaker and weaker after years of spending and spending and loaning and loaning, the fun is out,
I just wanted to share with you what a new i30 costs at the moment, and I don't think I will see many in the next months  :|

All the prices are in Icelandic Krona, because this is an international forum just go to http://www.xe.com/ucc/ (http://www.xe.com/ucc/) to convert to your currency  :)  or sad  :|

Hope you find this interesting  :|
Sad I agree, but it's all down to the credit crunch, or maybe that should be Kredit Krunch  :D

Actually I'm glad that it took 5 months for my car to arrive, why? Because when I ordered the car I was going to get 80% car loan in foreign currencies.
Here's a chart for the Icelandic Krona Trade Weighted Index (TWI)

1 Year chart
(http://i165.photobucket.com/albums/u52/hermannh/1year.jpg)

5 Year chart
(http://i165.photobucket.com/albums/u52/hermannh/5year.jpg)

So this means when I got my i30 and signed the papers the currencies I chose (JPY & CHF) were strong and ISK was weak, which was good because if the ISK would one day get better and stronger the loan would decrease, although my loan has increased a little now it would be much higher if I'd got the car earlier.
Poor people who took 100% foreign loan one year ago, I've heard a lot of stories of loans that are now higher than the value of the car    silly people.

At least the dealer honoured the original price.

Give then credit!

You mean 17.796,65 EUR = 2.338.000 ISK  ;)
Thats amazing, thats a little bit more than here. 9 months ago I could have gotten the 1,4 version for 14.000 EUR

Your prices are very expensive according to Turkey

i30 CRD? 115hp Select    33.500 TL = 18.500 Euro = 26.750 dolar

We have very high taxes.

Your calucations are correct. But I did a mistake in EUR price. Instead of 4 I wrote 7.
Price of my car was 445.764.- SKK (Slovak Krown). Thats 14.796.65.- EUR (1 EUR = 30.126 SKK).

So price which I mentioned before in ISK was correct

14.796.65.- EUR = 1,944.331 ISK

Im sorry for confusing you
