I have a 2011 i30 CW 2L petrol wagon and fuel consumption is HIGH, about 12L/100km I spoke to the hyundai service centre and they said it was running in. Car has done about 3000km now, when should I expect better consumption? :disapp:

have you reset the reading on the dash? you can do this by scrolling through the read outs (i think its the trip button?) until you get to the one you want and then hold the button in until the display goes back to no numbers just dashes.

I've only had my i30cw for 3 days now. And we've only driven about 60kms so far, it had 33 on odometer when we got it and it's in the low 90's now. I've reset the trip computer and I'm still getting around 11 \ 100 ... it seems a bit high. I've only done city driving, well suburban. Is this normal? What rate do you guys get? and will  it go down?

I'd give it a bit of time and see how it is when you do a full tank.
It could possibly have been sitting idling which would push the average up so when you refill I'd suggest resetting it and seeing how the next one is - I reckon it will come down.

Should I use premium unleaded?

Opinions on this are mixed but I can't see why you would need to... :goodjob:

Well....it runs in the family now...my sister just bought a new SLX hatch...petrol, auto,   only had it delivered this week, so it will be interesting to see how it compares  fuel wise... with the other "newbies"....will keep you posted.

Now I just have to get her into the club. !!   :winker:

Got the same on my 2liter petrol
Was doing 11.3l/100km
At around 3500km i did the reset on the calculator.
It now indicates between 8.6 and 9.0 depending on highway or city

Not amazing for a 2 liter with such low power!

Perhaps it has something to do with the way you drive?  :undecided:

Are you trying to drive economically?

Given the i30CW petrol auto's official city figures are 10.2/100 (according to carsales the hatch is rated 10.3l/100), and these figures are hard to achieve in real life, neither figures quoted are overly alarming.
