Most of the Long Term members on here will know I'm not a big SUV fan but the new Santa Fe looks better than the old one to my eyes and is very well equipped (I reckon they should sell pretty well)

I agree - I like the look of that.
I'm not a huge fan of the cross-overs & 4WDs either (I hate the American term SUV, Sports Utility Vehicle, what's that?  :undecided:) but I like the look of that.
I just checked the price though and an Elite diesel on road is almost $51,000 and that's not even the top model.
The days of Hyundai being a cheap alternative are gone I think.

I wish the i40 had the 2.2 Diesel .. something like 421nm of Torque

and the economy is not bad for a big vehicle at 6.6 combined for the Manual  :goodjob:

P.S. Don't know why I said SUV (I dislike that term as well)

Yes, we always want more, don't we (I know I do).
The 2.2 in the i40 sounds good to me.
A 2.0 litre diesel in the i30 sounds pretty good too.  :D

Wow! That is lots of torque. That pulls harder than a fifteen year old school boy.

I'd rather not torque about what I was like 40 years ago  :-[ :whistler:

SUV is a fancy term that the US "soccer moms" can give to there fancy gas guzzling "station waggons"

It doesn't seem to have any relevance here.
In Australia a utility (ute) is a pickup elsewhere so SUV really doesn't fit or mean anything.
It's just a term that we've blindly copied from the U.S.
