The boot door of my wagon doesn't have a handle/lock on the inside. Instead there's this latch sort of thing that you need a flathead screwdriver or something thin to click out.
Is there any part, official or aftermarket, that I can install so this can be done by hand?

Probably not. I suspect the idea was that any protruding mechanism may be in danger of being activated by shifting cargo during travel. However, I can think of a few ways to design and 3D print a smooth, low profile handle to achieve what you're seeking.
