Just had a look at mine. Looks like any other hook type mounting but all the pressing and poking doesn't make it move. Is there a special knack before I manage to err ..... knacker it!

I had the same problem as you on my previous 2010 i30. So I bought a replacement rubber wiper, cut it to length and fitted it in situ without removing the blade from the car.

I'll go out at lunch and have a look at mine. Wiper blade, that is.

Well, I just endured a soaking from hell, but the rear blade looks simple enough to remove. Just needs the tight spring lifting from its retainer inside the blade housing.

No, I didn't try to remove mine, and being honest it can only be removed when the blade is away from the glass, which is when its at its tautest

May try the full shebang this weekend if the weather improves.

Managed to remove it. Got a bit of a clue from the user manual page 7.28.
Raise the wiper arm away from the window. The blade assembly will pivot on the arm about 20 degrees more. Hold the blade firmly and pivot it further away from the arm. There are a couple of pimples that now ride out of there retaining dimples and the blade should be loose enough to remove. At this point it will be nearly 90 degrees from the arm.
It worked for me! No responsibility accepted for any breakages!

Quick question for AlanHo.
How did you prise the plastic claws from the metal retaining strip without breaking off the claw?

Ahh I thought you wanted to remove the whole arm. Mea Culpa.

Just been out to remove mine. Yep. Doddle. Around 20 seconds to remove.

It was 18 months ago and I can't remember the details. I recall using some long nose pliers to "ease" something out of the way in order to slide the old rubber out and new rubber in. I just looked at my new car but the end fitting looks different to what I remember on the old model. Sorry I can't help further
