Gonna be honest, 2 weeks ago we didn't need a car and I had never really thought of the i30, then the wife had a minor incident with someone wanting to park their car in her back door which leaves us 1 car down and a situation... Always wanted a wagon as our next car and after all the searching came down to 2 cars, the Holden omega Wagon (2009), or the i30 diesel CW (2010). as I'm here and not on the Holden forums, you can already guess my choice, but after really being able to take it out on its first long drive yesterday, I'M IN LOVE. enough room for me at 6'4", great fuel economy and lets be honest, all those body curves are sexy as all hell!

I do have a few questions though, cos I cant seem to find the answers searching the forums "how can I tell if the stereo is bluetooth capable?" I get in the car I hear a welcoming voice say connecting, but cant find any way to pair up phone (galaxy note 2) to stereo. and the other question is the trip computer, all my trip button seems to do is reset km's driven on a long press, short presses seem to do nothing I can tell but I read other people having readouts of fuel/KM consumption etc. is it possible my car just doesn't have those options?

Anyway, hope to get to know a few more of you as I lurk and de-lurk around the place, not mechanically minded enough to really help anyone out, but plan on doing a few basic mods (audio on steering wheel, tow bar) and the mods page has been a great reed so far for that.

See ya round

Nasty

 :welcome: to the forum.

I can't remember when Bluetooth was introduced exactly but someone will know.
My previous '09 didn't have it.

Welcome Nasty.

If it is a base model SX you don't get the trip computer. Only the SLX and above get it.

My wifes late 2010 CW (MY11 Model) just missed out on Bluetooth so must have been 2011 build onwards sorry  :Pout:

Great car all the same.. I loved our CRDi Hatch but couldn't justify the extra $2500 for the CRDi as the wife only does 8000 Kms per year in her CW.

:wttc: Nasty if your trip button only resets the trip you have bought the SX,NO trip computer, friend has the 2010,no call or hang up keys on his stereo,he doesn't have bluetooth ,if you have the phonebook key and green answer and red hungup key, pretty sure you would have bluetooth,if so pairing is explained in the user manual

This is EXACTLY what I wanted to know, thanks to everyone for the welcoming messages and help. but now I'm confused what exactly does the car tell me is "Connecting" and says Goodbye when the car is turned off?.. is it just exchanging pleasantries? I think I have the politest car in the world... Such a huge jump up from my 98 excel (teen car, huge exhaust, sunroof, subwoofer etc...) to the family friendly almost all automated i30.. I am still finding excuses to just go for a drive atm..

Have you noticed that it's only after having a few drinks that you hear these voices?  :whistler:

I'd say your car is possibly possessed by spirits as my 2010 model doesn't say a word to me...  :snigger:

My 2011 i30 Trophy does have the Bluetooth but not the fuel computer etc.  As for the 'Goodbye' my i30 does not say that but but my wife's Micra ST-L wishes you good bye on the screen.

Such is life, goodbye.

The work mates car does the same thing,it will connect to his mobile phone Audio only,so he can play his music from his phone, but not the phone connection, don't ask me how that works, send a picture of your head set, maybe the previous owner put a later model head unit in it,so then I couldn't see why you wouldn't have phone connectivity, both ours are 2011,both have handsfree phone,I have them both set on auto answer(good stuff  :goodjob2: )

I cant connect just audio  via phone (in fact cant get the phone to play via usb at all (galaxy note 2) but the audio jack plays it just fine. def NOT a bluetooth headset after comparing with the link (thanks for that) doesnt say hi or bye on the screen, just via audio :)
